Miniso Land Sunway Pyramid Will Be The First in Malaysia, What to Expect?

After making a monumental success in Indonesia, Miniso introduces Miniso Land concept to Malaysia. Its first branch will be located on the F1 floor of Sunway Pyramid (replacing Don Don Donki). As of now, official opening date has not been announced.

Miniso Land at Sunway Pyramid will become the third branch in Southeast Asia, following the Asiatique Thailand branch and Jakarta's Central Park Mall. The Jakarta branch spans around 3,000 sqm store with a Barbie-like, themed store.

So, what makes Miniso Land different?

Miniso Land stores are known for their massive size, typically over 1,000 sqm. This superstore concept allows them to showcase a wider variety of products, including exclusive or IP-licensed collections from popular franchises such as Sanrio and Harry Potter. The spacious environment also allows them to hold pop-up and product launch events.

Unlike regular Miniso, each Miniso Land features a unique theme with playful aesthetics. This approach is designed to create a sense of exclusivity.

Examining their branches in China and Indonesia, a notable feature is the inclusion of colorful arts throughout the interior, embodying the essence of fantasy. This design strategy aims to generate viral marketing and encourage customers to spend more time in the store. 

There is also an interactive zone packed with claw machines and gashapons, similar to those found in an arcade center. Rumor has it that Miniso Land Malaysia might offer something new, but we'll have to wait and see.

The effort to introduce a new concept cannot be separated from its success in the Southeast Asian market. In fact, Ye Guofu (Miniso's founder) said that Malaysia has been one of the easiest market to penetrate.[1]
